POLICIES OF OPERATION

As of April 2009

 

Woodstock Weavers Guild Rules of Operations are operating decisions adopted by a majority of the Board as these rules guide various Guild operations.   Dates in ( ) represent the date the Policy was adopted.

 

Policy 1.
Regular meetings will be at 10:00 am on the first Wednesday of September through May.

Policy 2.
The Guild will follow Robert's Rules of Order. (2-26-97)

Policy 3.
The Guild will become a member in the Handweavers Guild of America. (3-5-97)

Policy 4.
Workshops must pay for themselves. (12-17-97)

Policy 5.
The Guild agreed that 10% of each person's sales at the weaver's garage sale should be returned to the Guild to fund future programs. (3-4-98) (rescinded 4/8/09).

Policy 6.
WORKSHOP PAYMENT POLICY—The Guild requires payment in full by the stated deadline to reserve a space in a workshop. Material fees, if any, are due the first day of the workshop. There will be a $20 fee for checks returned for insufficient funds. Because the Guild contracts with out-of-town teachers, months in advance, we cannot give a refund for a last minute cancellation. If the applicant gives notification of cancellation at least four weeks before the start date of the workshop, a 50% refund will be given. The full workshop fee will be forfeited if cancellation is made within the four weeks prior to the workshop. If an applicant needs to cancel and can find someone to take their place, the payment can be transferred. (12-16-98)

Policy 7.
Woodstock Weavers Guild will have an annual show. (12-1-9)

Policy 8.
POLICY ON HOUSING A PRESENTER OF A WORKSHOP -If a presenter is housed for one night, the person providing Housing would receive a 50% reduction in that
workshop fee. If the presenter were housed for more than one night the person providing housing would receive that workshop free.  (2-28-00)

Policy 9.
FAMILY MEMBERSHIP—Is available at the rate of the regular membership fee plus $10 for each additional family member. The additional family members must live in the same house and one newsletter will be sent to the residence. (4-11-00)

Policy 10.
Electronic copies of the monthly Newsletter will be available along with reducing the Membership fee by $5 for those accepting the electronic version in lieu of the mailed version. (4-14-08)

Policy 11.
In-house program presenters will have their lunch provided by the Guild. (4-14-08)

Policy 12.
Memorials for Members will be given a donation to Weave a Real Peace in the amount of $25. (4-14-08)

Policy 13.
Bylaws will be reviewed every two years and revised as needed. (4-14-08)

Policy 14.
Board is authorized to spend up to $350 for operational needs without Membership approval. (voted 4/1/09)
